A popular New Jersey destination has garnered attention for being among the best places to travel to in September.
Travel + Leisure ranked the Jersey Shore as a top destination to travel to this month. It joins 20 other domestic and international spots on the list.
According to Travel + Leisure, the Jersey Shore's ranking reflects the state's 90 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches, warm weather, and dynamic ocean waves. The travel publication also praised Atlantic City's boardwalk, Steel Pier, and nightlife activities.
Events such as the Wildwoods Thunder Over the Waves Airshow, scheduled for Sept. 5-6 in Wildwood, were also factored into the rankings. The event will feature performances by military jets, vintage aircraft displays, and parachuters.
A two-mile boardwalk in Wildwood offers plenty of opportunities for guests to experience the thrill of roller coasters, arcades, shops, water parks, and the beach.
Cape May, in particular, received high regard for its Victorian architecture, with more than 600 preserved Victorian buildings. The publication highlighted the charm of The Virginia Hotel, a boutique hotel for adults only. The venue is offering a package that features a two-day tent rental on the beach, a block away from the hotel, with lounge chairs, a table, a cooler, and a $50 resort credit included through Oct. 13. Congress Hall, the oldest seaside resort in America, was also recognized by Travel + Leisure.
