The City of Philadelphia has launched “Ring It On! One Philly, A United Celebration” to put the city's neighborhoods at the center of America's 250th anniversary commemorations next year.
Ring It On! aims to spotlight Philadelphia's dynamic communities, cultures, and small businesses through a series of economic and cultural investments. These investments focus on three key areas: activations, beautifications, and celebrations. The overall initiative aims to enhance civic pride, bolster neighborhood businesses, and create a lasting impact for Philadelphia beyond 2026.
“My Administration is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for residents across our great city to enjoy this historic milestone, while sharing in the economic, cultural, and civic benefits of 2026,” said Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker on the City of Philadelphia's website. “With over $100 million invested and partnerships spanning more than 60 community and cultural organizations, we're ensuring that everyone — residents and visitors alike — can see, touch, and feel the vibrancy of America's 250th anniversary through stunning public art, unforgettable events, and much more.”
Activations
A public calendar of 2026 Ring It On! events will highlight cultural attractions, experiences, and festivals happening during the 250th anniversary commemorations.
Beautifications
According to the city's news release, the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, in collaboration with community stakeholders, will direct enhancements across 20 commercial corridors selected in collaboration with Philadelphia City Council district offices. Each location will receive several physical improvements to encourage the growth of small businesses, enhance quality of life for residents, and stimulate new commercial development.
Celebrations
Several public programs will further support the community-wide celebration of this milestone event in America's history.
- Bells Across PA: In partnership with Mural Arts, local artists will design 20 large replica Liberty Bells. The bells will be displayed along commercial corridors and public parks. A corresponding map will encourage residents and visitors to explore these works of art across Philadelphia.
- Block Party BONANZA!: Two hundred fifty block party applicants will be gifted “Life, Liberty, and Happiness” kits containing 250th-themed swag, decorations, toys, games, healthy living tools, and other surprises.
- Neighborhood Tour Series: In the spring and summer of 2026, a special 20-week tour series will honor Philadelphia as the “City of Neighborhoods.” Each week, experienced tour guides will lead visitors on tours that will showcase neighborhood stories and encourage tourism beyond Philadelphia's Historic District and Center City.
