More than 3,000 food critics recently weighed in on a survey to determine the best locations for outdoor dining in the United States. One New Jersey vacation destination made its way into the top 25 of the best 150 locations identified by the business publication Advance Funds Network.
The Cape May Historic District was ranked as the 12th best venue for outdoor dining in the United States. Cape May's assortment of restaurants ranging from seafood cuisine to establishments celebrating various cultures contributed to the destination's placement on the list.
NorthJersey.com noted that The Ebbitt Room in the Virginia Hotel was highlighted in the survey. Respondents commented how they enjoyed sitting on the hotel's porch to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the restaurant's culinary team.
The Cape May town website contains a list of all outdoor dining locations in Cape May, including the following:

- Andrea Trattoria Italiana
- Beach Plum Farm
- Elaine's
- Harry's Ocean Bar & Grille
- The Lobster House
- Magnolia Room
- Mayer's Tavern
- SeaSalt Restaurant
- Union Park Dining Room
Two other New Jersey communities were also named to the Advance Funds Network list. Princeton ranked No. 68, and Montclair narrowly missed getting into the top 100, claiming the No. 102 spot.
