Fall is the perfect time of year for a getaway from Philadelphia to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. If you love a good craft brew, you'll want to take advantage of a new beer trail featuring more than 20 breweries and taprooms.
On Labor Day, Discover Lancaster, the official destination marketing organization for Lancaster and Lancaster County, unveiled the Lancaster County Brew Trail. The trail will remain active through New Year's Eve.
Visitors who want to explore the offerings can use a free app to navigate their way around the county. Some businesses offer discounts — 50% off a beer flight at Hell in a Bucket Brewing in Marietta, for example — or free items, such as a free beer flight at BierHall Brewing Co. in Manheim Township.
Guests can earn points to receive prizes such as a pennant, tote bag, and other Discover Lancaster merchandise. Participants check in at trail businesses to earn their points and unlock their prizes.
According to a Lancaster Online report, the following Lancaster County breweries and taprooms are participating in the new Lancaster County Brew Trail:
- Bespoke Brewing at 226 Gap Road in Ronks
- Bierhall Brewing Co. at 1703 New Holland Pike in Lancaster
- Big Dog Craft Brewing at 1559 Manheim Pike in Lancaster
- Black Forest Brewery at 301 W. Main St. in Ephrata
- Cartel Brewing & Blending at 920 Landis Ave. in Lancaster
- Compass Mill Tap House at 809 Rothsville Road in Lititz
- Hell in a Bucket Brewing at 392 E. Front St. in Marietta
- Iron Hill Brewery at 781 Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster
- Isaac's Brewhouse, with five locations in Lancaster, Lititz, and Mount Joy
- Lancaster Brewing Co. and Distillery at 302 N. Plum St. in Lancaster
- Mad Chef Craft Brewing at 2023 Miller Road in East Petersburg
- Our Town Brewery at 252 N. Prince St. in Lancaster
- Pour Man's Brewing Co. at 24 E. Main St. in Ephrata
