The Hungry Pilot at the Chester County G.O. Carlson Airport isn't just a place for pilots to fuel up between flights. This restaurant and bar, with its close-up views of the airport's runway, appeals to locals and guests alike with its comfort food focus. 

The Hungry Pilot's menu offers a diverse selection for diners to enjoy, featuring everything from soup and sandwiches to burgers and beer. According to Vista.Today, menu items include comfort food classics such as smashburgers, flatbreads, and pub-style sandwiches. Additional favorites include the Kennett Square mushroom bisque and the smoked Old Fashioned cocktail.

Large windows and a 60-seat patio ensure that all guests get a prime view of the airport's operations. Nine large display screens make the restaurant a prime spot for patrons on game days. A rotating calendar of events includes weekly trivia and bingo nights.

According to Action News 6, Lucas McMahon, the general manager and first-time restaurateur, owns the business alongside his family. All went in together to open the establishment in 2024. Family members include McMahon's father Bob and his wife Katie, and Lucas' brother and sister-in law, Bruce and Shannon.
