A series of community-focused events in Philadelphia throughout September will promote civic engagement, cultural participation, and social services. These events will focus on fostering cultural connections, historical reflections, and community-focused conversations that bring people together for dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding.

Here is a look at some of these programs that you can participate in this fall:

  • Explore exhibitions such as "Legacy In Ink," "Semblance and Resemblance," "Vertical Display: Mina Smith Segal," and "Sound The Chimes of My Abstract Body" scheduled throughout September through the Parkway Central Library branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
  • A Social Justice Resource Fair on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. will provide further opportunities for community involvement. This 10th annual teen-led event will offer a resource fair addressing two major issues: food accessibility and mental health. Local organizations combating these issues will be present to provide information and support for members of the community in need of these services. This event will take place at the Heim Center for Cultural and Civic Engagment at the Parkway Central Library branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
