Ten-year-old Devin Cassidy from South Philadelphia has turned her passion for the Phillies and their mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, into vibrant designs for T-shirts inspired by her first game experience.
Devin's creative design gained recognition when her family wore them at the Philadium restaurant.
Her father, Ryan Cassidy, knows all about Philly pride. He founded PhillyGoat — an apparel company celebrating Philadelphia's culture and sports — to champion Philly's culture and sports teams.
For Devin, her designs are more than an outlet for her creativity. They're rooted in family and helping others.
"Because I was once sick and it wasn't fun, I wanted to help other kids who were sick and hurt," she shared with CBS News Philadelphia.
Today, Devin uses her artwork to give back, donating a portion of the sales of her shirts to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). There, she was treated for ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) after a choking incident.
Devin finds happiness in seeing others wear her unique shirts, which reflect her passion for the Phillies. Devin is now collaborating with her younger brother, who has autism, on a new T-shirt design.
Devin's Phillies-inspired designs are available for purchase at PhillyGoat.com.
