Burlington County Library Brings Back Fandom Fest

The Burlington County Library System (BCLS) will host its free Fandom Fest on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Main Branch Library, 5 Pioneer Blvd., in Westampton, New Jersey. This event, held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will celebrate comics, pop culture, and fandoms for attendees of all ages.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite characters from comics, including Star Wars, Doctor Who, Dungeons & Dragons, WWE, and others. According to Cinnaminson Sun, this event will feature workshops such as “Getting Started with Cosplay,” “Cartooning,” and “First World Komix Superhero Creation,” along with panels with creators and artists discussing their work and inspirations.

Additional highlights of Fandom Fest include playing classic 8-bit video games, participating in a Fandom Fest Scavenger Hunt that features clues and comic book characters, filming a WWE promo, and shopping from vendors selling comics, graphic novels, fandom art, jewelry, and comics memorabilia.

According to The Cinnaminson Sun, this year's event marks the first Fandom Fest since 2019 after a five-year hiatus.

“Libraries are more than just books, and this event offers a showcase for the variety of genres of comics, graphic arts, movies, and games in our library collections, along with the many library services, clubs, and resources the BCLS makes available to cardholders,” said Burlington County Library System Director Ranjna Das in a statement shared with The Cinnaminson Sun. “Whether you're a die-hard comic lover, cosplayer, sci-fi fanatic, or role-playing adventurer, or just looking for a fun day at the library, we're excited to welcome you to the Fandom Fest.”
