Matchroom Boxing invites the Philadelphia community to attend a public workout at Ralph Brooks Park in South Philadelphia with undefeated former World Welterweight ruler Jaron "Boots" Ennis on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m.
The Sept. 27 event will feature a workout by Ennis and other fighters on the undercard, including the following:
- Khalil Coe and Jesse Hart, who will fight for Hart's USWBC Light-Heavyweight title
- Tahmir Smalls, who will compete for his first belt in the WBA Continental North America Welterweight title
- Philadelphia's Dennis Thompson, a Super-Bantamweight from Philadelphia, who will fight for the eighth time in the pros on Oct. 11
Local young boxers from Philadelphia gyms, as well as civic and community leaders, will participate in workouts before observing the professional fighters' training sessions.
Ennis is preparing for his debut at 154 pounds at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on Oct. 11. There, he will compete in a final eliminator for the WBA World title against Uisma Lima, with the fight broadcast live on DAZN.
