SALT Performing Arts is set to stage the Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods from Oct. 10 to Oct. 26 at its Chester Springs Theater at 1645 Art School Road. The performance will feature a talented cast led by Trevor Sheehan, Emily Merow, Emi Aungst, and Lindsay Looloian.
Directed by Daniel Williams, with music direction by Jason Scansaroli and choreography by Chelsea Barnett, the show will hold performances on Friday evenings, Saturday matinees and evenings, and Sunday matinees. The production is rated PG-13 for mature content.
Into the Woods connects the tales of classic children's storybook characters in a narrative that explores wishes, family, and the consequences of one's choices. The production is well-recognized for its multilayered themes and memorable musical score.
“Like the characters in the show, we all struggle with choices that lead to unintended consequences. At SALT, we embrace the mantra ‘feed your good wolf,' reminding us that life rarely offers easy answers,” said Lauren McComas, president and artistic director of SALT Performing Arts, to MyChesCo.com.
Opening night on Oct. 10 will feature dressy attire and champagne service. Tickets are available on the SALT Performing Arts Center's website. Seating is at full capacity, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early as late seating is limited.
In partnership with the Chester County Food Bank, SALT will collect canned beans at each performance and donate $1 from every ticket sold to local hunger relief efforts.
