Throughout October, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is organizing several community events, including networking, educational, and celebratory gatherings.
Wednesday, Oct. 1
A free Coffee Connection event at Sharon Bank, 153 Saxer Ave. in Springfield, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.. It will offer members and prospective members a chance to network while highlighting the bank's 150-year history of community service in Delaware County.
Tuesday, Oct. 7
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the chamber is hosting a Restaurant Round Table from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for food service business owners and operators to discuss industry challenges and share strategies. This meeting will take place in Ridley. The actual location will be shared a week prior to the meeting.
Thursday, Oct. 9
The ATHENA Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Springfield Country Club honors Marcia Zaruba-O'Connor as the 2025 ATHENA Award recipient, recognizing her leadership and community service. Tickets are priced between $60 and $100.
Wednesday, Oct. 15
The Young Professionals' Pour & Partner Networking Event at Penns Woods Winery, 124 Beaver Valley Road in Chadds Ford, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., offers wine tasting and networking. The cost is $10 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
Monday, Oct. 27
On Monday, Oct. 27, Newtown Square will host the Level Up Young Professionals Toolbox event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at AC Hotels by Marriott Newtown Square, 200 Squire Drive in Newtown Square. This program features roundtable discussions on career development topics like homeownership, financial wellness, soft skills, and public speaking. Registration is $10 per person.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
A breakfast session on Wednesday, Oct. 29, will explore the “Big Beautiful Bill” legislation impacting taxes and incentives. Local accountants will explain the effects on area businesses. This event will take place at The Inn at Villanova, 601 County Line Road in Wayne, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Ribbon Cuttings
Several community organizations are celebrating grand reopenings in October. They include ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Ivybrook Academy in Glen Mills on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at noon, and Total Team Solutions in Brookhaven on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 5 p.m.
