Several projects will impact roadways in Chester and Delaware counties over the next several weeks.
Starting Monday, Oct. 6, Palmers Mill Road in Marple Township, Delaware County, will be closed for utility work. The closure will remain in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, Dec. 31, between Martins Run and Paxton Hollow Road.
The detour will be Route 320 (Sproul Road), Cedar Grove Road, and Route 252 (Newtown Street Road). Local access will be maintained.
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time. All work is weather dependent.
Paving restoration will close Concord Road in Westtown Township, Chester County, beginning Monday, Oct. 13. From Oct. 13 through Thursday, Nov. 13, the road will be closed on weekdays between Westbourne Road and Oakbourne Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A detour will be in effect via Oakbourne Road, U.S. 202, Route 926 (Street Road), and Concord Road. Local access will be maintained.
Finally, PennDOT announced that construction has begun on a $6.8 million project to offer long-term sinkhole remediation along U.S. 30 (Exton Bypass) in West Whiteland and East Caln townships in Chester County.
From Monday, Sept. 29, through Friday, Oct. 3, alternating lane closures will be in place between Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) and Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for survey operations. Drivers should expect delays and are advised to allow extra travel time.
Road-Con of West Chester is serving as the contractor on the federally funded project.
