The Radnor Run, a nearly 50-year-old community race that supports lung health, will hold its final event on Sunday, Oct. 26, marking the end of a long-standing tradition in Radnor Township.

The race has been a community highlight. It features scenic routes through Radnor's open spaces and has attracted over 750 participants with various race options, including a 5-mile race, a 2-mile trail walk, and a 1-mile fun run.

According to Patch of Radnor, the Radnor Run has raised approximately $1.5 million over the past two decades for lung health research, advocacy, and education.

Radnor Township Parks and Recreation Director Tammy Cohen explained that the American Lung Association decided to cease supporting the race due to financial and resource challenges. This decision comes despite the logistical support from township officials and a dedicated team of approximately 100 volunteers from the American Lung Association and the township.

Runners can sign up for the 48th and final Radnor Run online on the American Lung Association's website. Those who register and fundraise $25 by today, Wednesday, Oct. 1, are guaranteed to get the last Radnor Run shirt ever. Residents living along the course can receive one complimentary registration by using the code NEIGHBOR.
