You don't have to look too far beyond Philadelphia to find the most peaceful place in Pennsylvania. A new study by thetravel.com named Lancaster the most peaceful place in the state.
The website noted that, despite being one of the most populous cities in Pennsylvania, Lancaster nonetheless remains an ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle of daily living.
"Lancaster offers a slower way of life, showcasing traditional ways of living, historic buildings, and a walkable downtown," thetravel.com said. "It's a beautiful blend of history, family-friendly attractions, and amazing cultural experiences. Lancaster is a hub of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, a region of German Pennsylvania, hence the strong Amish culture."
The website highlighted the Amish Farmhouse and Village tour, which allows visitors to learn more about the Amish communities that call Lancaster County home.
Travel.com notes that its website is a "place for new, intermediate, and long-time globetrotters to learn about the places they love."
