Former patrons of Iron Hill Brewery have a new way to redeem gift cards from the former establishment. Bomba ¡Tacos + Tequila has announced it will honor the cards for a limited-time discount offer.
The regional restaurant chain said it will accept Iron Hill Brewery's physical gift cards — regardless of their remaining balances — for a one-time 25% discount on purchases up to $1,000. The offer applies at Bomba's Pennsylvania locations in Malvern and Newtown.
According to MyChesCo, those who want to participate in the promotion will still keep their Iron Hill cards if Iron Hill Brewery later announces refunds or settlements through a bankruptcy process.
As noted by MyChesCo, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant abruptly closed all 15 of its brewery and restaurant locations in late September. Two weeks later, the company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. According to a report by Nation's Restaurant News, Iron Hill's filing showed the company had more than $20 million in debt and about $125,000 in cash.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has advised customers affected by the gift cards to contact their credit card providers to dispute charges and to file complaints with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
Bomba ¡Tacos + Tequila is known for its globally inspired tacos, scratch-made cocktails, and vibrant atmosphere. Its Philadelphia-area locations include The Grove in Malvern and at 2930 S. Eagle Road in Newtown.
