Major League Soccer (MLS) announced its finalists for the 2025 MLS Year-End Awards on Thursday, Oct. 23, with the Philadelphia Union having three in consideration for individual honors.

According to the Union, defenders Jakob Glesnes and Kai Wagner have both been named finalists for Defender of the Year for the second time in their careers. First-year Head Coach Bradley Carnell is a finalist for the Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year.

Glesnes, the 2022 MLS Defender of the Year, played a key part in the Union's defense this season. The center back appeared in 31 matches with 30 starts, scoring once, and winning 130 duels and 55 interceptions.

Wagner led the Union on both sides of the ball. He became the first defender for the Union to have three seasons with at least 10 assists. He finished with 11 during the regular season. The left back led the team in games played and minutes with 2,769, while adding two goals. As a defender, Wagner had the most successful crosses in the league with 88, and he finished second in assists.

Under Head Coach Bradley Carnell, who took over leadership of the Union during the offseason, the Union claimed its second Supporters' Shield.
