Toys "R" Us is making a significant comeback this holiday season.
According to a recent company announcement, Toys "R" Us plans to open 30 stores across the United States by the end of the year, including eight flagship locations and more than 20 seasonal shops, as part of a strategic effort to revive the brand.
The following seasonal store pop-up locations in the Philadelphia and South Jersey region will open just in time for the holiday season:
- Deptford Mall, 1750 Deptford Center Road, Deptford, New Jersey
- King of Prussia Mall, 160 N. Gulph Road, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
Toys "R" Us already operates a global flagship store at the American Dream entertainment and retail center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017. The company was eventually liquidated and sold to WHP Global in 2021. Since that time, the new parent company has been aggressively advancing new initiatives for the toy brand, including reopening stores in the United States.
"This holiday marks an important step in our expansion strategy for the Toys 'R' Us brand," Gideon Schlessinger, CEO of Go! Retail Group, said in a press release. "Through both flagship stores and seasonal holiday shops, we are delivering the same experience nationwide, strengthening our presence while meeting consumer demand during the most important season of the year."
Toys "R" Us will announce more location openings during the holiday season, according to the release.
