West Chester will host an event inviting participants to help break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Chain Push-Up — all while raising funds for veterans in need.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Bishop Shanahan High School, 220 Woodbine Road in Downingtown. It aims to bring together more than 150 participants to surpass the current world record of 138 people. Proceeds from the event will support Team Foster, a Pennsylvania nonprofit that provides accredited service dogs to injured and disabled veterans dealing with physical and psychological challenges.

“This is more than just breaking a record,” said Devin Gage, owner of Gage Strength Training, to MyChesCo. “It's about showing what happens when a community comes together — pushing for something bigger than ourselves and giving back to the men and women who've sacrificed for us.”

Participants can register online to join the record attempt or donate directly to Team Foster. The event will be filmed and verified in accordance with Guinness World Records' official standards to confirm that every push-up counts.

Established in 2012, Gage Strength Training blends personal coaching with community-driven initiatives for West Chester. Team Foster was created in memory of Capt. Erick Foster, continuing its mission of empowering veterans with service dogs that restore confidence, independence, and connection.
