Philadelphia is ramping up for a high-profile New Year's celebrations to begin 2026. City leaders are promoting New Year's Eve events that emphasize the city's history and civic pride.
Fireworks on New Year's Eve
Philadelphia will host two free New Year's Eve fireworks shows over the Delaware River, expanding the display by launching from three barges and offering two synchronized shows at 6 p.m. and midnight for free viewing across multiple waterfront areas. There is no charge to view the fireworks.
Liberty Bell Replica to Ring in the New Year
A replica Liberty Bell will leave its home at the National Liberty Museum for the first time as it plays a prominent role in the city's New Year's celebrations.
"It will ring across the waterfront. It will ring as a reminder that liberty is not just something we remember. It's something we practice and a promise we renew, generation after generation," National Liberty Museum CEO Dr. Alaine Arnott told NBC 10 Philadelphia.
The bell will be available for visitors to touch and take photos, event organizers said.
New Year's Eve Celebrations for Kids
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cherry Street Pier on New Year's Eve, families can participate in hands-on activities before the fireworks show begins at 6 p.m. with a balloon drop.
Music, activities, crafts, and warming stations will be available for guests.
- Tickets before Dec. 15 are $23 per person.
- Tickets after Dec. 15 are $27 per person.
- Children younger than 2 are free.
New Year's Eve on the Ice
Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest will host New Year's Eve Parties on Ice with skating, live entertainment, and views of the fireworks between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. or between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. on New Year's Eve. Members of the public can enjoy ice skating, live entertainment, and great views of the fireworks.
- Tickets before Dec. 15 are $57 to skate or $47 to watch.
- Tickets after Dec. 15 are $63 to skate or $53 to watch.
New Year's Day Mummers Parade
Celebrating its 125th anniversary, the Mummers Parade will be part of New Year's Day festivities and is tied to the nationwide 250th anniversary celebration. More than 10,000 participants will march from City Hall to Washington Avenue. Special viewing areas will be set up at 17th and Market streets, plus along Broad Street at Samson, Pine, and Carpenter streets.
