Chester County will offer a dynamic concert season that features multiple symphony ensembles and groups presenting a diverse slate of performing arts programs across the region.
Here's a look at some of the upcoming performances:
- Brandywine Valley Symphony, formerly known as the Kennett Symphony, opens the season at the Mendenhall Inn on Sunday, Nov. 23, with Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings performed in the Inn's Grand Ballroom. The symphony will perform at the Chester County History Center on Saturday, Dec. 6.
- The Main Line Symphony Orchestra in Wayne begins its 80th season with a Friday, Nov. 21, performance at Valley Forge Middle School. Music will feature Bach's Air on the G String, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, and the world premiere of Randy Navarre's La Grande Serenade.
- West Chester University's Wells School of Music and affiliated groups will unveil a varied schedule. A Saturday, Nov. 15, program entitled "Simply Transformed" will feature music by Paul Dukas and Philip Glass. In addition, the Golden Rams Marching Band will perform on Nov. 15. You can also catch the band at the West Chester Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 5.
