The Brandywine Ballet will bring its annual performance of the holiday classic The Nutcracker to West Chester from Dec. 19 to Dec. 21. Performances will be held at the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall on the campus of West Chester University at 700 S. High St.
Performances are scheduled for the following days and times:
- Friday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m.* and 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
*The morning performance on Friday, Dec. 19, is a special student and senior group show with limited public tickets.
Ticket prices for the performances are as follows:
- Section A (Yellow): $50
- Section B (Pink): $40
- Section C (Blue): $30
The production blends Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker score with the professional dancers of the Brandywine Ballet to create a dynamic viewing experience for audience members of all ages. The Nutcracker narrative follows young Clara and Uncle Drosselmeyer from a Christmas Eve celebration into a dream world featuring dancing snowflakes, the Mouse King's battle, and the Land of Sweets led by the Sugar Plum Fairy.
