The City of Trenton, New Jersey is hosting its annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway on Monday, Nov. 24, starting at noon, with a rain date of Tuesday, Nov. 25, if needed.

Turkeys will be distributed at three locations: Unity Square Park at the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Chestnut Avenue, West Ward Rec Center at 351 Prospect St., and George Page Park at North Clinton Avenue and Lawrence Street.

Residents are advised to arrive early and bring their own bags. According to Community News, city officials said the program aims to help households prepare for Thanksgiving and to meet heightened demand for holiday food assistance later in November.

The giveaway is organized by Trenton's Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, and Culture under Interim Director Paul Harris, with support from Mayor W. Reed Gusciora's administration.

Residents can get more information about the turkey giveaway by visiting the City of Trenton's website or by calling 609-989-3860.
