West Chester will host the Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends. The free, family-friendly celebration runs from Black Friday through New Year's Day. Members of the public can experience more than 80,000 lights while enjoying holiday shopping at local retailers.

According to MyChesCo, the festival, organized by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, is expected to draw more than 40,000 visitors this season.

During Black Friday, Friday, Nov. 28, visitors can shop small during the first weekend of festivities as the West Chester Borough Balladeer Carolers serenade them in Victorian attire from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29, the West Chester Borough Balladeer Carolers return from noon to 2 p.m., followed by Santa touring on a fire truck at 3 p.m. The following weekend, on Friday, Dec. 5, more than 25,000 people will attend the West Chester Christmas Parade at 7 p.m., preceded by the tree lighting, featuring a newer, taller Christmas tree.

Lasko Products LLC returns as sponsor of the tree and lighting ceremony, with a new tree generously provided by West Pharmaceutical Services, the Barry Family, Adam Loew, and Eli Kahn. Numerous sponsoring businesses and organizations have also contributed to the event.
