PennDOT is launching a new phase of safety upgrades and infrastructure modernization on one of Philadelphia's most heavily traveled routes.
Motorists will face a daytime lane closure in both directions on weekdays from Monday, Dec. 1, to May 19, 2026, between 18th and 20th streets, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Drivers should expect backups in the construction area and allow for extra travel time. All work is weather-dependent.
According to a MyChesCo report, the project involves curb and sidewalk installations, as well as upgrades to inlet and stormwater pipes.
More information about this project is available on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's website.
