Philadelphia’s Christmas Village Opens With New Attractions

From Thanksgiving Day through Christmas Eve, Philadelphia’s beloved Christmas Village brings the feelings, flavors and features of a traditional European holiday market (mulled wine included) via more than 80 vendors in JFK Plaza, also known as LOVE Park, in the heart of Center City.

Now in its 18th year, this year's attractions include a 30-foot-tall German Christmas Pyramid lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 30. New food offerings include loaded baked potatoes, sweet churros, and fresh craft cocktails served in ornament-shaped glasses at the Snowflake Cocktail Bar.
In addition, an expansive Festival of Trees will highlight nearly two dozen beautifully decorated evergreen trees.
About 120 vendors will offer handmade gifts and holiday fare, complemented by family-friendly attractions like a double-decker carousel, a Ferris wheel, a children's train, traditional German fare, glühwein, hot chocolate, apple cider, and the Alm beer garden.
Additional holiday activities for children and families include the following:
- Meet Phil the Reindeer: Starting Nov. 22, visitors can enjoy a meet-and-greet with the event's beloved mascot.
- Santa's House: Guests can visit Santa Fridays through Sundays from Nov. 29 to Dec. 21.
- Thirsty Thursday: Adults can enjoy drink specials on Dec. 4, 11, and 18.
- Holiday Greenery Workshops: Guests can get into the holiday spirit with the weekly Greenery Workshop Series, presented in partnership with Terrarium Therapy.
Philadelphia's Christmas Village at LOVE Park & City Hall will operate on the following days and hours:
- Sunday through Thursday: noon to 8 p.m. | Friday and Saturday: noon to 9 p.m.
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Christmas Eve, Dec. 24: noon to 5 p.m.
- Closed Monday, Nov. 24, through Wednesday, Nov. 26
