LEGO has opened its largest travel retail location in the Americas at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The store opened on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the B/C Connector, spanning nearly 1,000 square feet.

This newest addition to PHL features a custom LEGO Mummer sculpture crafted entirely from LEGO bricks to celebrate the city's iconic Mummers Parade and its New Year's Day tradition.

When guests step inside the store, they can pick up a free LEGO Passport booklet and have it marked with the first LEGO Passport stamp created exclusively for the Philadelphia airport.

PHL currently hosts several LEGO attractions that complement the new store's opening. A full-scale LEGO Liberty Bell exists in Terminal A-West, and three self-serve LEGO vending machines exist in Concourses A, D, and E. These machines are operated by automated retail provider Prepango, according to The Moodie Davitt Report.

“We welcome the increased presence and expanded footprint of LEGO products and are thrilled to enhance our retail offerings for travelers of all ages,” said Kate Sullivan, chief commercial officer for the Department of Aviation at PHL, in a news release. “The LEGO Group is a renowned global brand, yet our new LEGO Store will be uniquely ‘Philly' with the unveiling of an original sculpture that brings Philadelphia into the airport.”

“Our mission is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow, and this fantastic LEGO store offers an immersive brand experience that allows Philadelphia travelers to engage with our brand,” said LEGO Group Head of Travel Retail Expansion Annette Rosendahl. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer the passengers of Philadelphia International Airport a fun and memorable experience.”
