Universal Pictures dropped the first trailer for Steven Spielberg's next movie on Dec. 16. "Disclosure Day" arrives in theaters June 12, 2026.

The trailer shows Emily Blunt as a Kansas City weather reporter who makes strange clicking sounds while delivering a live forecast. Weird. Josh O'Connor plays a man who wants to reveal the truth about alien life to the world. Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes round out the cast.

David Koepp wrote the screenplay based on a story by Spielberg. Koepp worked with the director on "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," "War of the Worlds," and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

"It's like old-school Spielberg," said O'Connor in an interview with Deadline. "I think people will be excited."

"I finished reading the script, and I bawled," said Domingo in an earlier interview with Deadline. "I thought it was one of the most beautiful scripts about our humanity."

This marks the 37th movie Spielberg has directed since his debut in 1964. His directing work has brought in over $10 billion worldwide. He's won three Academy Awards, including best director for "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan."

John Williams will score the movie, marking his 30th collaboration with the director. Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg are producing through Amblin Entertainment, while Adam Somner and Chris Brigham serve as executive producers.

The release comes alongside success for "The Age of Disclosure," a documentary about alleged government cover-ups of alien life. That documentary broke a record to become the most-rented documentary in its first 48 hours on Amazon Prime Video.
