Watch Party PHL has teamed up with Philadelphia Sisters and Sterling Pig Brewery to create a beer honoring women's sports across the city. The Philly is a Women's Sports Town Pilsner, available for sale through the end of January at Sterling Pig Brewery, select bars, and online orders.
This brew started as Sterling Pig Brewery's Shoat Pilsner, which grabbed awards before. It's a 5% ABV pilsner with crisp malt flavors.
The partnership extends to other merchandise featuring the "Philly is a Women's Sports Town" phrase. Watch Party founder Jen Leary coined the phrase after Philadelphia secured a WNBA expansion franchise in 2030. Actor Aubrey Plaza sported one of their shirts bearing those words courtside at a New York Liberty game this summer, sparking widespread attention.
Watch Party PHL hosts viewing gatherings for women's sports. They're opening The Stoop Pigeon in May 2026. This new bar will stand beside Marsha's on South Street, which opened in October, as the city's dedicated women's sports bar.
Philadelphia Sisters is a grassroots group advocating for professional women's sports teams in Philadelphia since 2019. They build women's sports from youth programs up to professional squads. Alex Niedbalski-Sykes runs it.
Philadelphia secured its WNBA expansion team this year and will host its first professional women's basketball contests since 1998 on Jan. 30. Unrivaled, the offseason three-on-three women's basketball league, makes its inaugural tour stop at Xfinity Mobile Arena that day.
The WNBA team tips off in 2030.
