Recycle Your Tree and Celebrate at Philly Goat Project’s Eighth Annual Christmas Tree-Cycle Festivals

Philly Goat Project is kicking off 2026 with one of Philadelphia’s most beloved eco-friendly traditions — the Eighth Annual Christmas Tree-Cycle Festivals! These fun, family-focused gatherings blend sustainability, community spirit, and, of course, a whole lot of goats.

Held across three weekends in January, the Christmas Tree-Cycle invites locals to recycle their trees while supporting the nonprofit’s year-round programming. The events will take place on January 10 and January 24 at The Farm at Awbury Arboretum and on January 17 at Laurel Hill West Cemetery, all running from 12 PM to 3 PM.

For a $20 donation per tree, guests help fund Philly Goat Project’s free community events like goat walks, children’s literacy programs, and animal-assisted therapy initiatives. What makes it even more heartwarming? The donated trees become healthy goat snacks or wood chips for local parks — a perfect example of sustainability in action!

New this year, the project is teaming up with Solar States, a local B-Corp promoting clean energy. Anyone who completes a free solar consultation before attending Tree-Cycle will have their $20 tree donation covered by Solar States. Participants can even earn $400 off their solar installation while the company donates another $400 to Philly Goat Project–a true win for sustainability lovers.

Visitors can enjoy a day packed with goat meet-and-greets, a cozy fire pit with free s’mores and cocoa, games for all ages, a quiet zone for special needs guests, and the camera-ready Goat Photobooth.
