Avelo Airlines is expanding its route network in 2026. The airline carrier has announced it will add nonstop service from Wilmington to Atlanta and Chicago early next year.
According to The Philadelphia Business Journal, the new route from Wilmington Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will begin service on Feb. 12. The flight to Chicago O'Hare International Airport will debut on March 12.
The discount airline carrier will operate five weekly flights to Atlanta on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Four weekly flights to Chicago will be offered on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. One-way fares start at $34.
These newest additions bring the number of Avelo nonstop destinations from Wilmington to 16. Most flights are to cities in the southeastern United States and to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Avelo founder and CEO Andrew Levy noted that the new routes are in response to strong, continued demand in the Greater Philadelphia region for low-cost, reliable flights.
