SALT Performing Arts will present a revival of A Grand Night for Singing, a Rodgers & Hammerstein revue with a live orchestra, at SALT's Chester Springs location from Jan. 9 to 18.
The show originally premiered during SALT's 2014 season and is being revived after more than 11 years.
“I recall the opening night of A Grand Night for Singing back in October 2014 vividly,” said Lauren McComas, president and artistic director of SALT Performing Arts, in a statement shared with The (Pottstown) Mercury. “It was our first show at SALT and the birth of my childhood dreams coming true. There was no video wall, no stage deck, no scene shop, no costume closet, only a couple of fancy lights, a small orchestra pit of volunteers, and a lot of enthusiasm to create magic for our community.”
The production will take place at SALT Chester Springs, 1645 Art School Road, in Chester Springs. Tickets are available on the SALT website. Those who require handicap accessibility should select Row A seats via computer and use the north accessible entrance. Once the show begins, there are limited opportunities to be seated by ushers before intermission.
As part of a 10-year partnership, SALT will collect food for the Chester County Food Bank at every performance, with $1 from each ticket sale going to the Food Bank.
SALT Performing Arts provides live community theater productions, The Playhouse for Preschoolers at Montgomery School, summer and year-round theater camps for kids, a dinner theater experience, and more. Learn more about SALT Performing Arts on its website.
