An internationally renowned singer is teaming up with an award-winning performer for a benefit performance supporting arts education.
A North American tour stop will bring Josh Groban and Jennifer Hudson to Philadelphia on June 7 at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, where the pair will headline the show.
Groban is a Tony, Emmy, and five-time GRAMMY award winner. Hudson, an American Idol alumna, is the youngest woman to win an Emmy, a GRAMMY, an Oscar, and a Tony.
"I have always loved my time in Philadelphia," said Groban in a statement shared with Action News 6abc. "I've played just about every venue there is there, indoors and outdoors, and the Philly audiences are always just so great. It has been a place that has always filled my tank with a lot of joy."
A portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold for the concert will be donated to Groban's Find Your Light Foundation. According to its website, the Foundation works to ensure every child can receive a quality arts education. The organization directly supports exceptional arts programs across the country by combining advocacy, education, and outreach.
"We focus support where the need is greatest to inform and inspire others in recognizing arts education as a critical component of a young person's development," a statement on the website noted.
