On Valentine's Day, a Chester County individual reconnected a missing diamond with its rightful owner.

According to NBC10 Philadelphia, Cindy Ware of Chester County realized several months ago that the diamond from her ring, passed down through her late husband's family, was missing. The diamond turned up in an unlikely place: in the sole of a water shoe.

Ware's neighbor Coleman, who doesn't use a last name, said he spotted the gem in his shoe while vacationing in Florida.

"That night, I posted a picture of it in my shoe on Facebook because I thought it was an interesting, amusing story to have a diamond in the sole of my shoe. Thank you, Paul Simon," he said.

A friend in the Kendal Crosslands Community in Chester County, where Coleman lives, saw the Facebook post and said she believed she knew who the diamond belonged to. On Valentine's Day, Ware confirmed the diamond belonged to her.

She believes the diamond fell out of the ring at one of her pool exercise classes. Coleman happens to play water volleyball in the same pool and must have landed on the diamond, so it fit perfectly in the sole of his shoe.

"Too many things to have happened just right for me to even know where it was or how it was saved on that shoe," Ware said.

Ware and Coleman were already neighbors and friends before this event, but he said he was pleased to reunite her with a family treasure.

"To be able to add even a little bit more happiness there," Coleman said, "well, that's really swell."
