A free Charter Day festival at Pennsbury Manor on Sunday, March 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will celebrate Pennsylvania's 345th birthday.
The event aligns with Charter Day, which marks King Charles II's 1681 charter of the colony of Pennsylvania to William Penn. During the event, individuals can enjoy tours of the Manor House, trades demonstrations in woodworking and blacksmithing, and colonial dancing.
Entertainment for the day will include the Living History Theater troupe and beer brewing activities.
Attendees are invited to bring nonperishable food donations for Bucks County Housing Group's Penndel Food Pantry.
“The PA Historical and Museum Commission actually opens sites all over the state on this day to mark the birth of Pennsylvania. This year, we're especially excited to include local historical organizations who will share America 250 plans and updates with attendees,” said Doug Miller, historic site administrator at Pennsbury Manor, in a statement shared with BucksCo.TODAY.
