Wawa has launched its 2026 summer hiring drive for its New Jersey stores. The campaign is intended to bolster staffing at more than 35 stores, many in Jersey Shore communities.

The Shore News Network reported that openings are available across popular destinations, including Cape May, Wildwood, Ocean City, Stone Harbor, and Barnegat. Stores such as Wawa #452 in Cape May, #729 in Wildwood, and #917 in Manasquan are among those seeking summer associates.

Wawa said it offers "competitive compensation" for the positions, noting that seasonal jobs may lead to long-term employment with the convenience store operator.

“We have many associates that start with us during the summer and enjoy their experience so much that they stay with us," said Jason Read, the chain's director of store operations, in a statement shared with the Cherry Hill Courier-Post.

Wawa offers employees several benefits, including a free Shorti sandwich per shift and discounted menu prices.

Benefits include flexible scheduling and opportunities for long-term advancement beyond seasonal work. Additionally, Wawa associates who meet eligibility requirements may access health and wellness benefits, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan, the company said. Wawa also has an employee stock ownership plan for eligible workers.
