Get ready to experience 36 films making their New Jersey premieres at the 2026 New Jersey International Film Festival (NJIFF). The event, which will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between May 29 and June 7, will celebrate its 31st anniversary this year.
According to New Jersey Stage, the hybrid film festival will be presented online in addition to in-person screenings at Rutgers University. These screenings will be held in Voorhees Hall beginning at 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. on their show date.
Many of the films will be available virtually through Video on Demand (VOD) for 24 hours on their show date. VOD films will start at midnight Eastern.
Each general admission ticket or festival pass purchased for the event is good for virtual and in-person screenings.
General admission is $15 per program. A film festival all-access pass is $120, with an in-person-only student ticket available for $10 per program. Tickets are available online for purchase.
Below are some of the films that will be screened during the festival:
- Tom Bell's Salt Marsh demystifies topics related to art, climate, and solitude through the reflections of artist Mitchell Rasor.
- Nate Dorr's Chemical Meadows delivers an experimental documentary that connects water chemistry and photochemistry in the post-industrial New Jersey Meadowlands.
- Rob Herring's documentary Greenfield peers into the mind and mission of Robin Greenfield, regarded as one of the world's most radical environmentalists.
- Nathaniel Jameson and Alex Saltie's cartoon-like film Stew to Eat is a stand-out production that complements Yehuda Sharim's Los Tres documentary profiling three amazing Mexican-American artists.
- Pavan Moondi's touching feature Middle Life showcases July Talk singers and bandmates Leah Fay Goldstein and Peter Dreimanis.
Several film directors, producers, and actors will also appear at the NJIFF. They include New Jersey filmmakers Owen Andrejco, Adam Ansorge, Nicholas Diodato, Sandeep Karanjkar, Kat Lindsay, Jawan Edgar Martinez, and Jamili Pacheco-Urquiza. Additional festival guests will include David Arrow, Gabriel Barrios, Max Beckerman, Gianfranco Bello, Martin Del Carpio, Ashley Gerst, Nathaniel Jameson, Jen Nista, Alex Salti, and Adelaida Tamayo.
