Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, is constructing a new roller coaster in the Boardwalk area. When completed, it will be the park's 14th roller coaster and will serve as part of a broader transformation of The Boardwalk, which will debut later this spring.

The Patch of Manchester, New Jersey, reported on Thursday, March 19, that sections of blue track had arrived in recent weeks at the park, which will open soon for the 2026 season. Installation of the first pieces of track is "a defining step where the layout of the ride starts to take shape in real time," park officials noted in comments to the Patch.

According to a Patch of Brick, New Jersey, report, the new roller coaster is separate from another coaster under construction in the area previously occupied by Kingda Ka. The park is now referring to this development project as "Project Purple." Photos and video of the erection of the first pieces of track for this roller coaster, anticipated to be unveiled in 2027 as the park's 15th coaster, were revealed on Thursday, March 19.

Six Flags is offering a season passholder preview on Friday, March 27. The park will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, March 28.
