The Philadelphia Museum of Art will reinstate pay-what-you-wish Friday nights, called Independent Fridays, running from April 10 to Sept. 4. During this period, visitors can pay any amount for admission each week. Museum officials said the goal is to make museum visits more affordable and accessible to a wider range of guests, including families.
According to a PhillyVoice report, in addition to flexible pricing, each Friday will offer extras such as live DJs, cocktails, light bites, gallery tours, and extended after-hours viewing.

The program aligns with two major upcoming exhibitions: “A Nation of Artists,” opening April 12 across both the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and “Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments,” which explores the Rocky statue's story and opens later in April.
After Sept. 4, the museum will return to its standard discounted Friday admission of $15, but pay-what-you-wish admission will continue on the first Sunday of each month.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art is at 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. For more information, visit the museum's website.
