The Philadelphia Department of Aviation has launched two campaigns at airports, Transform PHL and Transform PNE, for development projects at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE).

According to PHL, a new page on the PHL website, PHL.org/transform, will describe how every project helps to create a more enjoyable experience for passengers and employees and profile the work of the airports to help travelers in Philadelphia.

“We're inviting travelers to be part of our transformation journey. Guests and employees can learn more and see end results like new restrooms, furnishings, and exit lanes,” said Department of Aviation Chief Development Officer Api Appulingam in a statement shared within the news release.

“We're also showcasing the work that is taking place on the airfield and in non-public areas, and that increase operations and promote energy efficiency — projects passengers won't be able to see or feel— but are necessary for improving PHL and PNE for everyone. These include projects taking place to welcome our guests not only for the activities of 2026, but for years to come,” Appulingam continued.

Visitors to the webpage will find projects described across the terminals, airfield, and information technology by distinct colors and icons to provide clear information. The public can also use the website to learn about a project's scope, estimated timeline, and how it will enhance the air travel experience.

Additionally, the PHL.org/transform webpage will also engage visitors with videos featuring members of the project teams. Through these videos, airport staff will describe the significance of the projects and what they mean to airport travelers.

According to a Philadelphia Today report, the improvements to PHL and PNE come as Philadelphia prepares to host significant events this year, with investments in the infrastructure designed to benefit travelers for years to come.
