The School District of Philadelphia has opened registration for its summer programs for K–12 students on a first-come, first-served basis. While registration for most programs has already opened and will continue on a rolling basis until full, some programs are invite-only.
In a letter to parents and families dated April 13, Superintendent Tony B. Watlington Sr. noted that all current district students, including those entering kindergarten this fall, are eligible to participate. Families should visit the district's summer programs website to learn more and register quickly, as seating is limited. Families and students will be notified about their enrollment status by mid-June.
New and ongoing offerings include a Visual Arts and Dance intensive for middle- to high-school students, the Career and Technical Education Summer Camp, and the Summer Achievers program, supported by the City of Philadelphia's Office of Children and Families.
A district Summer Programs flyer is available for download. Virtual Parent and Family University workshops are set for Wednesday, April 15, covering SEPTA travel and summer learning opportunities. Recordings of the workshops will be available afterward on the Parent and Family University website.
"Summer programming is just one of the many ways we are delivering on our promise to create pathways for every child to imagine and realize any future they desire," Watlington stated.
