If you’ve ever wanted to step into a galaxy far, far away without leaving Pennsylvania, New Hope has you covered. From May 1 through May 4, 2026, the town will transform into a Star Wars‑inspired playground as the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce expands its popular May the 4th celebration into a four‑day, town‑wide event featuring more than 60 participating businesses and locations.

What began in past years as a one‑day activation at a handful of spots has grown into one of Bucks County’s most anticipated spring events. For four days, visitors can move from storefront to storefront discovering themed cocktails, specialty menus, retail discounts, giveaways, and interactive experiences, with each business offering its own creative take. The result is an experience that feels organic and constantly evolving as you explore the town.

“This is one of those weekends that shows exactly what New Hope does best,” said Michael Sklar, President of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. With small, independently owned businesses leading the charge, the entire town becomes part of the celebration, encouraging visitors to explore beyond just one stop and really experience everything New Hope has to offer.

A major highlight of the weekend takes place on Sunday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when members of the 501st Legion (Garrison Carida) will walk throughout town. Known for their incredibly detailed volunteer costumes, the group adds a visual element that brings the streets to life and offers plenty of opportunities for photos and fan interaction.

Across New Hope, restaurants, bars, boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops will roll out themed offerings ranging from creative cocktails like Blue Milk, Jedi Juleps, and Darth‑inspired drinks, to Star Wars‑themed food, limited‑time menus, discounts for guests in costume, and playful promotions that reward fans who lean into the spirit of the weekend.

The scale of participation is what truly sets this year apart. With businesses spanning nearly every category — dining, retail, art, wellness, nightlife, and more — the event showcases the diversity and creativity that define New Hope. Whether you’re popping into a bookstore, grabbing gelato, shopping vintage, or enjoying live entertainment, there’s something new around every corner.

The event is free to attend, family‑friendly, and open to the public. While individual businesses may offer paid specials, there’s no ticket required to join the fun. All themed elements are presented as parody, homage, or general science‑fiction inspiration and are independently organized by local businesses.

With walkable streets, historic charm, and a community that thrives on creativity, New Hope proves once again why it’s one of the region’s most beloved destinations. This May the 4th weekend, the Force won’t just be with you — it’ll be everywhere.
