More than 60 Philadelphia businesses are banding together to support animals in need with an animal shelter fundraiser.
On Wednesday, May 13, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) will host the Philly Loves PAWS fundraiser to support homeless and at‑risk pets in Philadelphia.
Local businesses, including American Sardine Bar, South Philadelphia Tap Room, and Second District Brewing, will donate at least 10% of their sales on the day to PAWS. The participating venues span restaurants, cafes, retail shops, fitness studios, and pet‑related businesses, all aimed at boosting weekday foot traffic while funding rescue, veterinary care, foster placement, and pantry support for animals.
Some businesses will serve as donation sites and will collect pet food and supplies for PAWS' pantry. Requested items include dry and canned dog and cat food, as well as cat litter.
“We're proud to celebrate the 10th year of Philly Loves PAWS alongside more than 60 incredible local businesses,” said Melissa Levy, PAWS' executive director, in a statement shared with the South Philly Review. “This milestone reflects a decade of community support, bringing neighbors together to uplift small businesses while raising critical funds to help vulnerable pets find loving homes and stay with the families who love them.”
Since 2016, the event has raised more than $150,000 for animal welfare efforts in Philadelphia. Look for a full list of participating businesses and pantry drop-off locations on the Philly Loves PAWS webpage.
